Deltares develops knowledge and tools to deal with present day questions of marine, coastal zone, river, regional and urban water managers and  designers of hydraulic structures. To assure an effective R&D output, cooperation is endeavoured with these problem owners, universities and other research organisations. Innovation is noticed in several products.

The R&D results are demonstrated in Annual Reports:
Deltares's goal is to act as a portal to hydraulic-related knowledge and believes this is supported by its international publications. Much of the know-how acquired by our R&D programmes is assimilated in software systems to which access may be gained by our clients upon the payment of a fee. Technical reports created from various R&D studies may be examined free of charge via our library or a hardcopy may be received on payment (limited to Dutch parties).
