EU-supported Transnational Access to Major Research Infrastructures

Call for Expressions of Interest for access to Deltares' Facilities

The European Commission has approved the sixth Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development.

In the Specific Programme on 'structuring the European research area' there is included a scheme to support researchers with Transnational Access to Major Research Infrastructure, like in the FP5 programme.

Deltares (in co-operation with Delft University of Technology) is offering 9 unique experimental facilities, together forming a major research infrastructure in the field of hydraulics.

The Access Program will start in the beginning of 2004 and will have a duration of approximately 3 years. This programme offers research groups a free access to the Major Research infrastructure of Deltares. It also gives researchers 100% coverage of travel & subsistence costs during their stay in the Netherlands, for those coming from EU-Member or Associated States (other than the Netherlands).

State-of-the-art measuring and recording instruments are available together with matching data acquisition and data-processing systems. In addition, the Deltares and Delft University of Technology Infrastructure can provide all modern support facilities, such as library, computers and processing & printing.

Scientists given access to the facilities will be working in a scientific intellectual environment, with assistance and guidance available from experts covering the wide spectrum of hydraulics and related topics.
