As per 1 January 2008 WL | Delft Hydraulics joined forces,with GeoDelft, the subsurface and groundwater unit of TNO and parts of Rijkswaterstaat in a new independent Dutch institute for national and international delta issues, Deltares. The institute employs 900 people.
