harbours and coastal engineering

At all stages of planning and design of harbours, marine terminals and other coastal infrastructure (offshore breakwater schemes, land reclamations and beach developments) our research and expert-advisory services are tuned to provide added value to the hydraulic design process. Our in-house multi-disciplinary expertise in port and coastal engineering is both far-ranging and highly focused. We have advised on the design and modification of new harbours and coastal schemes as well as optimisation of existing works in over 1000 projects worldwide for almost 75 years. Our clients include port authorities, local government, planners, specialised - and general -consultants, developers and contractors.

Detailed theoretical research work, laboratory testing and mathematical modelling with our specialised software supports our understanding of the behaviour of tides, storms surges, currents, waves, sediment transport and beach and coastal erosion and the application of this knowledge to design projects.
